Tournament Recap: Dom Ships it for “Danno!”

Goosebumps. Absolute goosebumps!

Could not have written a better script for the $250 Veteran’s Day “Danno” Bounty if we had tried.

With over 100 seats available the day(s) leading up to the event, it looked like the event would likely not be a sell-out. Thankfully though, our “poker procrastinators” came rushing the cage and the tournament filled up as cards were in the air for Day 1A!

That left us with 432 players in the field, certainly the biggest event Boston Billiard Club & Casino has ever held (If not the entire state of New Hampshire).

Some excellent poker was spread across Day 1A-D. A lot of laughs, toasts to “Danno,” and of course bad beats and suck outs galore! When the smoke had cleared we saw just 65 players advance on to Day 2.

With 52 spots being paid, it was a grind to break through the “tourney bubble.” A nice mix of BBC&C regulars, staff and local grinders saw their way through into the money after roughly 45 minutes of play!

Eventually action had whittled down to the final table. We saw three employees, Dom Nguyen, Jeff Smith and Jack Kelley all secure a spot as well as 6 others. As play raged on it was Dominic Nguyen who held all the chips, the $20,000 1st place prize and the “Danno” trophy keeping it preserved in the BBC&C family.

What a poetic end to a fantastic event. So next question, when is the next one?!!
